WEB PAGE
JEDict has internal web browser that can be used for web page reading. The browser is built with Apple's Web Kit. Therefore web pages are displayed the same way as with Safari.
JEDict web viewer provides additional functions facilitating reading foreign language page.
- It automatically displays contextual translation of selected words inside side drawer. If 'Search selection in web page' option Preferences panel is checked, translation is shown each time you select text with double click or clicking and dragging the mouse.
- Using contextual menu you may send selection to Word search page.
- In addition to standard web navigation controls JEDict Web Page contain translate to English button (T) that redirected web page to Google translation engine.
JEDict has no bookmarks editor. It always loads Safari's bookmarks. On first start JEDict loads Safari's history. Thereafter it keeps its own history.
Some of web preferences can be set in Preferences panel.
